Mar 16th - Sauli's writes about finally feeling settled in LA and how happy he is to be there and to have found friends.
This week I've been thinking how wonderful it is that I finally feel that I belong here and nothing seems strange or unfamiliar.
I've always been happy but it takes about a year to settle into a new country and environment.
Frankly, it would seem very strange to live in Finland at the moment. I noticed I think about things more in English than Finnish. When I moved here a year ago, my vocabulary was really lousy. I'm more fluent and the best way to learn is in practice.
I've made many good friends during the year. A relationship will make you happy but each of us also needs to also have our own friends and things to do. I didn't really know anyone when I moved here, and now my phone is buzzing and with my courage and openness, I have support, security and a new life.
